Know if You Are at Risk for Heart Attacks, Strokes, and other Cardiovascular Diseases

Cypress Diagnostic Imaging is proud to offer the Vasolabs CIMT scan.

Cypress Diagnostic Imaging is proud to partner with Vasolabs to offer the Vasolabs IMT study.  This study is quick, takes 10-15 minutes, is pain free, and radiation free.  A video is taken of the left and right carotid artery using ultrasound.  Measurements are taken of the IMT (Intima Media Thickness) and the largest plaque (if any) in the wall of the carotid artery is measured.  Vascular Age is provided on the report, which is a function of the CIMT measured based on age and gender.  A CIMT scan can act as an early waring system by identifying increased thickness in the artery walls long before any symptoms of heart disease or stroke become evident.  The results of your CIMT scan can help your doctor tailor a treatment plan to reduce your risks of heart attacks and strokes, which is the leading cause of death in the United States.

 The Vasolabs report includes:
  • CIMT and Vascular Age
  • Video clips for each section of your carotid arteries so plaque can be visualized
  • A measurement of the largest plaque visualized

Early Detection of Heart Disease Risk

A CIMT scan can act as an early warning system by identifying increased thickness in the artery walls long before any symptoms of heart disease or stroke become evident.

Personalized Treatment Plan

The results of a CIMT scan can help your doctor tailor a treatment plan to reduce your risk of heart attack or stroke, which is the leading cause of death and disability in the world.

Non-Invasive and Safe

Unlike some other tests, the CIMT scan is non-invasive and uses ultrasound, not radiation. It’s safe and doesn’t require any special preparation.

Family History

If you have a family history of early heart disease or stroke, the scan can provide valuable information about your own risk, helping you and your doctor to take preventive measures.
